Description | GW9508 (10 - 40microM) did not influence basal insulin levels at 2mM glucose, but it (above 20 microM) significantly inhibited 5mM and 15mM glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. GW9508 is an agonist of G protein-coupled receptor 40 (GPR40) that is expressed in pancreatic beta-cells and was reported to regulate insulin secretion. GPR40 is a novel potential target for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. in vitro: Using small interfering ribonucleic acid to delete GPR40 in HepG2 cells, we demonstrate | ||
