Description | Methyl sterculate inhibits the synthesis of oleic acid both with parasite lysates and infected erythrocytes, most likely by targeting PfSCD. This compound exhibits significant, rapid and irreversible antimalarial activity against asexual blood stages. This parasiticidal effect is antagonized by oleic acid. | ||
