Potassium ferrocyanide trihyrate

  • Chemical Properties
CAS No. 14459-95-1 Cat. No. BCP12097
Name Potassium ferrocyanide trihyrate
Synonyms Potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) trihydrate;
Formula K4.[Fe(CN)6].3(H2O) M. Wt 422.36
  • Biological Activity
Description The ferrocyanide species is membrane impermeable and can be used to assess redox activity of membrane-bound structures and mechanisms of electron transport across membranes. This approach was employed to demonstrate that Potassium ferrocyanide performs reducing activation of membrane-bound dopamine β-monooxygenase from the exterior face of adrenal vesicles, providing elucidation of native reduction-activation mechanisms for dopamine β-monooxygenase regulation.
