Description	This novel agonist of the α7 nAChR has been utilized in multiple model brain investigations of this receptor. Utilizing rat hippocampal slices PNU-282,987 has been reported to evoke whole-cell currents. PNU-282,987 is hypothesized to modulate or enhance GABAergic hippocampal neurotransmission. Additionally, in mouse cerebellum, ethanol-induced ataxia was attenuated in a dose-dependant fashion with administration of PNU-282,987. PNU-282,987 has also been used in various studies to investigate the effects of the compound on hippocampal theta oscillation.
