Description SW044248 inhibits Top1 and not Top2 and appeared to do so by a mechanism different from camptothecin (CPT). SW044248 is a selectively cytotoxic chemical with activity against certain NSCLC cell lines. SW044248 rapidly inhibits transcription, translation, and DNA synthesis in sensitive cells but not insensitive cells. SW044248 kills approximately 15% of a panel of 74 NSCLC cell lines and is nontoxic to immortalized human bronchial cell lines.
